It took several years, but here it is: WhatsApp finally supports high-definition photos.
Until now, the application compresses shared photos, in order to facilitate and speed up the sending, without using too much bandwidth. But since the proliferation of unlimited packages, this compression no longer really made sense. Photos sent to messaging will now be able to reach a resolution of 3024 x 4032 pixels, compared to 920 x 1280 pixels previously.
