WhatsApp once again releases single media viewing on desktops and the web

2023-11-27 13:32:07

More than a year ago, we said here that the WhatsApp had removed the ability to send and open single view photos and videos both from your desktop apps (Mac/PC) and the web due to privacy concerns.

More recently, however, the messenger decided to bring back support for this feature on all of the aforementioned platforms, as per released by WABetaInfo.

As you can see in the screenshot below, the button to set single media view appears next to the caption/message bar of the WhatsApp editor for Mac/PC and web.

(Re)adding is beneficial for users, as this feature ensures that sensitive or temporary content is not replicated even when sent from a desktop application, improving user control over shared media.

According to the information, the resource is gradually being released to users.
