WhatsApp tests linking with Android tablets

MADRID, 23 Sep. (Portaltic/EP) –

WhatsApp has started testing linking the tablets with Android operating system to use the messaging service on a secondary computer, other than the mobile phone where the account is installed.

Users of the WhatsApp Android beta (v2.22.21.6:) can now link an Android tablet to their account in the messaging service, as one of the four different devices it supports. The mobile with the account can be Android, but also an iPhone.

The user will be able pair a tablet from settings of WhatsApp on the mobile, where they will have to go to ‘Link a device’ and scan a QR code that they will see on the tablet screen. This process starts the synchronization of the messages between the two computers.

After the synchronization is complete, from WaBetaInfo confirm that WhatsApp can be used on the tablet without the need for the mobile to have an Internet connection or be turned on.
