WhatsApp tests new look for the settings menu

O WhatsApp began testing — in the beta version of its iOS app — new icons for the Settings menu options, which will be renamed “You”. Available in version 23.19.1.74 of the messenger in TestFlight, the new look seeks to give a more modern look to the app, which has been without a deeper redesign for a few years.

As published by WABetaInfo In the image below, the new look ditches the old colorful icons in favor of an even more minimalist look. The order of the options was also changed, with some of them (Profile, Privacy and Contacts) now highlighted at the top of the screen, along with a new arrangement of the user’s profile photo.

The messenger began testing this new visual language at the end of August, when it also started experimenting with a new filter system for chats. Therefore, it is likely that the most recent changes were made precisely to make the app’s appearance more consistent.

This new feature, as mentioned, is available, at least for now, only to users registered in the trial version of WhatsApp, who are receiving it gradually. There is still no forecast for the new look to land in the stable version of the messenger.

So, did you like it?
