WhatsApp will have video messages, just like Telegram

In yet another chapter of the “Telegram already had this” saga, the WABetaInfo discovered that the WhatsApp is testing the possibility of sending video messages up to 60 seconds, which are not sent as regular videos.

The feature basically works as announced by Telegram in 2017, including the same round video design. The intention is that this is closer to an audio than a video itself.

As noted by WABetaInfo, the video messages will be end-to-end encrypted, which means that no one, not even WhatsApp, will have access to them. Still in terms of privacy, it will not be possible to save or forward video messages to other conversations – but it will be possible to take screenshots, for whatever reason.

Anyone out there excited regarding the upcoming “news”?
