When does the time change in Mexico and when does it end?
Daylight saving time will start next Sunday April 3 and will end the Sunday October 30. It will last a little over six months, before the country switches to winter time, when the clocks will be set back again.
Is the clock fast or slow?
With daylight saving time, the clock should be set forward one hour.
Exceptions for the time change
It should be remembered that summer time will not apply in the 33 municipalities of the northern border strip, Sonora and Quintana Roo.
These municipalities usually apply the time change a few weeks before the rest of the country because they are synchronized with the time change in the United States.
Due to Sonora’s commercial relations with Arizona, that entity may have its own schedule rules since 1998.
Meanwhile, Quintana Roo ‘moved’ in 2015 to the group of 75° west, to be one hour ahead of the center of the country and thus benefit tourism with one more hour of light on the beach. This is how the so-called southeast schedule was created, which also remains fixed throughout the year.
