When should I change my iPad?

Since 2010, when the first generation was launched, the iPad has become essential for many people. Since then, it has become a true computer replacement for certain users — as it has gained support for external keyboards and mice, for example.

And, as with computers, most people aren’t used to switching iPads on such short notice. Therefore, if you are in doubt whether the time has come to retire/donate/sell your Apple tablet, we have separated some tips that may serve as an alert for when to identify that moment.

Here we go?! ????

  • As with iPhones, Apple also guarantees software updates for iPads for a good few years. So, if your model is no longer being updated and you really want to use a new feature (like the Stage Managerfor example), this may be an indication that it may be a good idea to think about an exchange.
  • If your iPad is running low on storage (and you’ve already done a general “clean”), that’s also an indication that you may need to get a model with a larger capacity.
  • Apple’s latest processors handle most everyday tasks. However, as with any technology, they also evolve over time. Therefore, if your iPad is showing slowness frequently, maybe this is a warning sign.
  • The iPad’s battery, as well as those of iPhones and MacBooks, is also losing its original factory capacity. Therefore, consider carefully whether it is worth replacing just the cell (which can cost more than R$1,000) or getting a new model.
  • Most current iPads are compatible with the Apple Pencil or some type of keyboard made by Apple. So, if you want to use any of them, you need to think seriously about an exchange.

We hope these tips help you make the right decision! ????
