It is nice to meet flower collectors. Collectors of tomato varieties, collectors of rare plants are also well known to us. However, there are not many collectors of potato varieties in Latvia today, if, of course, you do not count scientific research institutions that maintain vegetable and potato collections for various purposes. However, a young agronomist lives and works on the Talsi side, who collects, maintains and develops the potato collection. It must be admitted that it is a rather complicated and specific event. “But Agronomy is my hobby, I like what I do,” says Elvijs Braun, owner of “Tīlnieku” in Lube parish, and explains how this passion arose:
