When the input range becomes interesting: Samsung Galaxy A14

Sure, on a tech blog, one knows that the conversations and “Likes” are focused on the flagships. Phones over $1,000 with 5 cameras and flashy names like “Action Mode” or “Super Retina HD Display”. A lot of people like that, and in fact, can afford it, which is fine. However, it is important to note that the real competition is at the entry level. A segment with more and more brands, where every gram counts and the consumer demands the maximum value. There are many proposals in this segment, but Samsung is the only brand that has two Androids in the Top 10 global sales, one of them being the Samsung Galaxy A13. Now Samsung presents the A14. Will it live up to its predecessor?

With you the Samsung Galaxy A14.

The all in one.

The interesting thing about smartphones is that the more “entry range”, the more demanding are the people who buy them. And honestly, they have every right as they can’t afford to lose money and they need the devices to work well, fit their needs and last.

There are many models available and the consumer knows it, therefore he can demand to be heard and satisfied.

Is the Samsung Galaxy A14 an all-in-one? Let’s see the specifications.

The Samsung Galaxy A14 features a 6.6-inch FHD+ display and is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 processor (a Techcetera favorite), accompanied by 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of expandable internal storage. In theory, it might sound like a fair powerhouse, but Samsung’s One UI interface and its handling of updates keep it light and powerful. In fact, mine updated as soon as I connected it to WiFi.

What a great screen.

The screen is FHD+ and I really consider that to be one of the strengths of the phone. Sure, it’s not the brightest under the sun, it’s true, but it performs well and indoors it looks bright and well-defined colors. As a bonus, you can also appreciate that the sound is very good; therefore, if you want to watch videos or a series, you can do it without problems.

The main camera is 50 MP f/1.8 (wide angle) with PDAF, in addition to a 2 MP f/2.4 (macro) camera and a 5 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle. Does it comply? Yes. Is it the best on the market? No, but it definitely holds its own within its category (and many others). Check out this changing light video test. It’s obvious how the camera struggles to adjust, but it does so naturally and fluidly.

As for photography, the difference between the ultra-wide angle and the main camera is abysmal. Keep that in mind when handling colors. Is a deffect? Not at all.

Look at the management of the backlight.

See the color change?

What a good camera.

Who is this phone for?

In addition to all of the above, the Galaxy A14 also has a 5000 mAh battery with 15W fast charging. It doesn’t have a glass top (which means if you drop it, wipe it off and move on, as it won’t break), no wireless charging, because you don’t need it, and it also has a headphone jack. In fact, it costs less than many Bluetooth headphones on the market.

It won’t break if it falls.

This phone is intended for those who are looking for the best value for money, who want an all-rounder device that can withstand the daily grind, hectic pace of life, and kids watching videos. Someone who is practical and just wants their phone to work, and most of us are.

Let’s talk on Twitter.
