In January 2023, Duong Cam Lynh’s debt events caused a stir on social networks. Accordingly, she admitted that she borrowed nearly 6 billion VND from friends and relatives to do business but suffered losses and lost everything. After the events, the actress gradually returned to art projects. She also focuses on business to stabilize her life and take care of her two young children.

PV Vietnamese people had a conversation with Duong Cam Lynh in the first days of the year.
Her year 2023 has passed with many changes. After ups and downs, how is your current life?
– As everyone knows, 2023 has been a year of many difficulties. Due to economic fluctuations, I had to borrow money from people, but then the story went much further. My job and contract were cut, I lost my income, and there were times when I didn’t have 5 million VND to buy milk for my children. However, now, things are much better. After 11 months, I paid off most of my debt. I was able to overcome the incident because of the audience’s love for me.
At that time, in addition to selling clothes, I also received about 500 pieces of Mr. Dam Vinh Hung’s goods to sell and received support from many people. That’s why, during last year’s Tet season, I earned 400-500 million VND in livestream sales in about 10 days. Before that, I had never sold anything online but only worked as an image ambassador and received advertising for the brand. I don’t even accept small brands or products that don’t have a reputation. But now I have to change my thinking, I will have to work like everyone else and can no longer use my image or title to do business.

Through these events, has your way of thinking changed much?
– I am very different from before. What happened helped me organize and calculate my life and make clear plans for spending. Nowadays, I rarely use beautiful things, much more limited than before even though it’s a hobby. Only when I earn a sizable amount of money do I buy a little for myself.
Many people also ask me about love, but really at this point I’m not afraid of not having a new love, I’m just afraid of not having money. Every livestream takes a lot of time. As soon as it ends, I’m busy checking goods, checking finances, and also having time for my children and new projects, so I don’t have time to think about it at all.
During your difficult times, did you ask for help from old people?
– For me, what’s past is over, I have to take care of my personal life, not wait and bother others.
I don’t bother Will’s father even though he is a wealthy person. I also didn’t meet Liam’s father even though at first I blamed him and felt sad. Later, when I found Buddhism, I was grateful to that person for creating an event for me to train myself. Furthermore, they give me lessons to help me grow.

Your feelings on this year’s Lunar New Year must be very different?
– That’s right! I have very different feelings and thoughts, not only because of the controversy but also because I am more aware of the audience’s feelings for me. I received a lot of attention, the audience sent banh tet and braised meat to my house for Tet. That’s why I always say it comes back to life thanks to the audience’s love. When the incident happened, information spread throughout the newspapers and on social networks. The audience texted me to encourage me and lift me up. Will and Liam’s teacher also texted me to rest assured because she has a teacher to take care of the children, and she also encouraged me to focus on sales.
In addition, there are foreign audiences who support me spiritually. I will never forget those feelings at the beginning of 2023, it is the greatest happiness in life.
How do you celebrate Tet this year?
– I returned to Dong Nai for Tet to be with my family during the last days of the year. This year, my father is sick, so I want to have more time to be close to him and celebrate sacred moments with my family.
