Chile continues to be the main buyer of Paraguayan meat. In September, it imported almost 94 million kilos, with a total value of more than 483 million dollars. Other big buyers include:

• Taiwanwith 26.7 million kilos, worth 127 million dollars.
• Brazilwhich bought 19.6 million kilos, for 110 million dollars.
• Israelwith 20.8 million kilos, for 109 million dollars.
• USAwhich imported 15.9 million kilos, for 74 million dollars.

Diversification and new opportunities

The report also highlights the importance of “maritime supply”, that is, exports destined for international ships. This item represented more than 16 million kilos and generated around 61 million dollars. Other less traditional countries that buy Paraguayan meat include Kuwait, Georgia and Albania, showing that Paraguay is expanding its reach.
