US President Biden took to the stage on the 28th at a conference to discuss issues related to hunger and nutrition, calling out the names of lawmakers who helped make the conference happen. Our senator passed away last month.
At the conference, hosted by the White House, Mr Biden thanked the bipartisan lawmakers for their efforts. Among them, Rep. Jackie Warorski (R., Indiana) died in a car accident on August 3. Biden issued a statement at the time following news of his death, expressing his condolences.
“Jackie, where are you? I thought you were going,” Biden said on stage that day.
The White House did not respond to a request for comment on Biden’s remarks.
