Discover the winners and losers of this new regulation. The award criteria are now stricter to be eligible for the ecological bonus of 5,000 euros (up to 7,000 euros for the lowest incomes).
The most important obviously remains environmental, with a score dedicated to each car taking into account the carbon footprint of the vehicle over its entire life cycle, from the production phase to its use on the road. This excludes several very popular models, but manufactured in China, such as the Dacia Spring, the Tesla Model 3 and the MG4, or in South Korea (most of the Hyundai and Kia range). On the other hand, the Tesla Model Y, produced in Germany, is eligible.

This new bonus was established to encourage the purchase of cleaner, lighter and more affordable models. The second eligibility criterion therefore concerns the mass of the car, which must not exceed 2.4 tonnes. Finally, the vehicle must not cost more than 47,000 euros, excluding options.
In the end, alone 53 models are now part of the list of eligible cars. Among the vehicles that should stand out and appeal to motorists, include the Citroën ë-C4, the Fiat 500, the Nissan leaf, the Peugeot 208 and the Renault Twingo, the Smart fortwo and the Volkswagen Up!. Please note, this list may be updated at any time, particularly if price ceiling regulations change.
The 2024 ecological bonus remains at 5,000 euros for individuals, without resource conditions. It may nevertheless rise up to 7,000 euros for households whose reference tax income per unit is less than or equal to 14,089 euros.
