The master is sorry that the artist died so early.
Nikita Mikhalkov does not hide the fact that he has special respect for some artists. For example, Oleg Menshikov is considered to be the director’s favorite. But before him, the master had another favorite in Russian cinema, whose talent is difficult to overestimate.
We are talking about Yuri Bogatyrev. Mikhalkov considers his colleague a gifted person from birth. He was not only good in the frame, but also an excellent drawer and played the piano. During the filming of the film “A Friend Among Strangers,” the artist learned to ride a horse flawlessly in just three days.
This does not mean that Mikhalkov did not have problems with Bogatyrev. Sometimes the director had to be tough to achieve the desired result. But in the end everything worked out just fine.
In one of the interviews, the master, remembering his deceased colleague, made a rather dubious compliment to the wonderful actor. He explained that one feature of the star was both his advantage and his curse.
