For a few hours now, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection has been available on PC… And for Sony and Naugthy Dog, that’s more than important.
Towards new horizons for PS5 games
For some time, Sony has completely changed the way it approaches its exclusives. Moreover, recently, Hermen Hulst, the director of PlayStation Studios, had spoken on this new vision and had indicated that, from now on, the exclusive narratives of the PlayStation 5 would take about a year before landing on Windows.
I think it’s really a good thing for teams to see their games also released on PC (…). There are more players and that helps. Today, this idea is once again put forward with the launch on PC ofUncharted : Legacy of Thieves Collection, une compilation qui réunit Uncharted 4 : A Thief’s End et son stand-alone Uncharted : The Lost Legacy.
PFor Sony and Naughty Dog in particular, this new approach is essential. The release of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PC is also considered a “big event” for the Californian studio.
While the PlayStation 5 remains our platform of choice, the possibility of releasing our games on PC represents an opportunity for us to reach a different and wider audience. As we browsed our catalog to find out which title would mark our PC debut, the grandiose and exotic adventures of the Uncharted series naturally imposed themselves as obvious. As you have understood, releasing games beyond PlayStation machines allows the Japanese brand to reach a wider audience and satisfy more and more players.
Other Naugthy Dog games to expect on PC?
Of course, and as you probably already know, Naughty Dog’s work on PC doesn’t stop there: the studio is currently working on the PC version of The Last of Us Part I. Indeed, the game recently released on PlayStation 5, on September 2, has already formalized its port to PC. Unfortunately, the latter has no release date yet. You will therefore have to be patient. But if we believe the words of Hermen Hulst, the game could arrive in September 2023 on this machine.
