Coming from the PSG training center where he began his professional career, Loris Arnaud was the subject of keen interest from Real Madrid who planned to enlist him in 2008. The former Parisian striker, now 36 years old , speaks frankly about this issue and explains why he preferred to favor PSG at the time.
His name may not mean anything to you, and yet, Loris Arnaud was a striker for the first team of PSG for several years. Trained in the ranks of the capital club, he made his professional debut there in 2007 before finally leaving free, in 2012, after the buyout of the Qatar. But the career ofArnaud could have changed during the summer of 2008, thanks to Real Madrid… Questioned in the columns of Le Parisien, the former PSG player recounts the interest shown in him by the Merengue club.
“Real were following me, they were interested”
“My agent (Alexis Rutman, lawyer) told me that Real Madrid was following me, that he was interested, but I thought it was just words. He told me: “You will see for yourself. »And one evening, after a match at the Parc against Valenciennes, I realized that it was true when meeting Real managers. Their proposal suited me, it was even a great project,” says Loris Arnaud.
“I wanted to succeed at PSG”
He continues before justifying his choice to finally say no to Real Madrid : “At first, I joined Castilla (team B) before joining the pro group a few months later. If everything went well, I continued with them. Otherwise, I would have been loaned. It was a 5-year contract, I would have received more money than in Paris by extending it. But I had in mind to realize my dream, to succeed at PSG, knowing that Le Guen trusted the young people. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always happen the way we want,” insists the former titi of the PSG.
