Why Nintendo Deserves Your Loyalty: A Tribute to Their Integrity and Passion

In a world filled with negative news stories about the gaming industry, one company always manages to stand out for its integrity and dedication to its fans. That company is Nintendo, and I have to say, God bless them.

As an avid gamer, I have been fortunate enough to experience the joy and magic that Nintendo games bring. From my all-time favorite game, TTYD, to countless other titles, Nintendo has always been consistent in delivering quality experiences that resonate with players on a personal level.

But what sets Nintendo apart from other companies in the gaming industry? While some companies have been plagued by sexual harassment scandals, hostile takeovers, and employee layoffs, Nintendo’s name remains untarnished. And even when they do face a rare instance of malpractice, Nintendo is quick to make amends and make things right.

Unlike another beloved childhood company, Nickelodeon, which has recently been exposed for enabling and protecting terrible individuals, Nintendo has no skeletons in its closet. Yes, there have been moments of frustration, such as when they shut down tournaments or mishandled the Joy-Con drift issue. But in the grand scheme of things, these shortcomings pale in comparison to the missteps of other companies.

What truly sets Nintendo apart is the genuine love and passion its employees have for creating quality games. Unlike some CEOs who bring home exorbitant salaries, Nintendo’s top executives prioritize the well-being of their employees. They have willingly taken pay cuts to avoid staff layoffs, showing a level of compassion and care that is rare in the corporate world.

Nintendo has also been a champion of fair gaming practices. Unlike many other companies, they have kept microtransactions and lootboxes out of their console games. And while they initially wanted to take the same approach with their mobile games, financial setbacks forced them to adapt to the demands of a different market.

But it’s not only their business practices that make Nintendo worthy of admiration. The company’s response to serious issues like sexual assault allegations is commendable. Instead of making empty PR statements, Nintendo’s president, Doug Bowser, sent an internal email expressing his concern and urging employees to come forward if they ever encountered such behavior.

When it comes to game releases, Nintendo has a track record of delivering polished products. While there may be occasional exceptions, such as the Scarlet/Violet game, the vast majority of Nintendo’s releases are a testament to their commitment to quality. And when they finally decide to remaster one of their most beloved games, they go above and beyond to exceed fans’ expectations.

Nintendo’s integrity goes beyond the company itself; it extends to the individuals who work there. The late CEO, Satoru Iwata, was mourned by thousands worldwide, showcasing the impact he had on both the gaming industry and the lives of gamers. Unlike other CEOs who embody a more cutthroat approach, Iwata chose to be like Mr. Rogers, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and genuine passion.

As a lifelong fan, I can confidently say that my loyalty to Nintendo is well-deserved. The company has earned it through its unwavering commitment to its fans and its relentless pursuit of quality. I cannot think of any other company in the gaming industry that possesses the same level of integrity.

So, as I eagerly anticipate the release of the remastered TTYD, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for Nintendo. Their care and passion shine through in every game they create, and I am truly blessed to have them in my life.
