One of the bad habits that practically all of us have is not going to the doctor regularly to simply do a routine check-up, which could avoid various and serious health problems in the long run.

This was evidenced, according to the Talker site, by a survey conducted by PatientPoint and OnePoll, which revealed the main reasons why people who live in the United States do not usually go to the doctor.

2,000 adults, residents of the country, participated in the study, who confessed the reasons why they do not go to a medical consultation.

Of the total number of respondents, 41% admitted that they avoid visiting the doctor at all costs. The main reason (52%) indicated that the main reason It is the fear that comes from thinking that they may not be able to pay their medical bills.

Other revealing data from the survey is that 38% of the people who participated and who are between 26 and 34 years old and 39% of people between 35 and 54 years old have not gone to the doctor in the last 5 years.

Asian Americans were much more likely than white respondents to feel confused (36% vs. 20%), overwhelmed (37% vs. 19%), or intimidated (30% vs. 16%) when going to the doctor.

Additionally, Hispanics were more likely than white respondents to feel anxious (63% vs. 48%), stressed (47% vs. 22%), or overwhelmed (34% vs. 19%).

The reasons for having these feelings were because 48% of Americans felt they did not have enough information to help them prepare for their medical appointments.
