Stefan Buck has left the second team of FC Bayern Munich in the direction of Eintracht Frankfurt. Coach Dino Toppmöller deliberately chose his new assistant.

Many a player from Eintracht Frankfurt had to play in front of 1,000 fans at the opening training session but look up a bit when Stefan Buck was standing in front of him.

The new assistant coach, who moved to the Main metropolis as an assistant from the second team of FC Bayern Munich, measures 1.89 meters.

Head coach Dino Toppmöller admitted after the gallop: “Because of his stature and height, he radiates something. In addition, Stefan is an incredibly good guy off the field.”

Buck should strengthen the connection to the NLZ

The first impressions confirm the words of Toppmöller. Buck, who had previously held various positions in the FC Bayern youth team for eight years, challenged, pushed and praised, while the Eintracht professionals began to sweat during an intensive passing exercise.

Short pass, clap, run behind, long pass – the 25 players, too the three newcomers included Ellyes Skhiri, Robin Koch and Hugo Larssonhad to dress properly in high summer temperatures.

The new Eintracht leadership quartet on the touchline consists of Top MöllerBuck, Erwin Bradasch and Nelson Morgado and there’s no time to lose.

They want to continue on the successful Frankfurt path and lay the foundation for the upcoming season with a triple burden in preparation.

Toppmöller explained Buck’s main task: “We wanted to add an assistant coach who has experience in the youth academy and who has the role of creating a better bond.”

“Permeability should improve”

The Frankfurters “have good talent. But the permeability should be improved.” Toppmöller is addressing a core issue in the Hessians.

The last homegrown player to make regular appearances in the Bundesliga was Aymen Barkok – whose debut was seven years ago. Ex-sports director Bruno Hübner once said the goal was “to get an Aymen Barkok up every year”.

Neither Adi Hütter nor Oliver Glasner succeeded. This pillar is therefore completely eliminated on the transfer market. If there are gaps, then sports director Markus Krösche goes on an external shopping spree. This becomes very expensive in the long run.

Buck was also a Bundesliga player in his career

With Dario Gebuhr and Elias Baum were two players from the second team with. However, these are processes that are not completed overnight.

However, Toppmöller is convinced that Buck can change something: “Stefan is a coach who was also a player. He’s played in the Bundesliga, so he’s gained experience. Players can benefit from this experience.”

In any case, the choice of Stefan Buck, who played 19 times in the first division and 132 times in the second division, was a very conscious one: “If we get someone, it’s important to know where his qualities are.”

Toppmöller knows her from two years together at FC Bayern – and hopes that this will give the Hessian talents a decisive push.
