Why was the Russian voice acting fixed in The Witcher 3, although CDPR left Russia? Developers justify themselves to the Internet

In the current conditions, the updated Russian voice acting in The Witcher 3 caused not only some joy and surprise, but also dissatisfaction. CD Projekt RED had to answer

In 2022, CD Projekt RED left Russia. Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher and other games have been withdrawn from sale in Russia.

In December of the same year, an updated version of The Witcher 3 was released. Although the game is not sold in the Russian Federation, CD Projekt RED announced that it had improved the Russian voice acting (corrected timings, etc.).

Someone was pleasantly surprised by this decision of the developers, but someone was not very pleased. It turns out that CD Projekt RED dared to improve the Russian voice acting, although the previous actions clearly did not mean this (leaving the market, withdrawing games from sale).

CD Projekt Red had to make excuses. As stated, work on localization was completed back in 2021, i.e. the work was completed before the beginning of 2022 (everything was pre-planned and done). CDPR recalled that it had ceased cooperation with Russian companies and stopped selling games on the territory of the Russian Federation – the position on this issue is the same

Nothing was said about the rumors about the Russian voice acting of the Phantom Liberty add-on for Cyberpunk 2077.
