Why women don’t get a chance with men – chess

Opening, middlegame, endgame. One thing leads to another, this is especially true in chess and in life in general. A recent decision by the World Chess Federation not only caused a stir, but also raised further questions. The Fédération Internationale des Échecs, or Fide for short, banned transgender players from taking part in women’s tournaments, thereby following the decisions of other world associations. Athletics, cycling and swimming argued that transgender athletes had an unfair advantage following male puberty, keyword testosterone, keyword muscle building. The Fide decision caused significantly more irritation. Quite a few people said that it shouldn’t matter at all who gets their turn where. Because: physical advantage? In chess?
