The home wifi chip on hiatus?
A research note shared this week by analysts Blayne Curtis and Tom O’Malley of UK bank Barclays reveals Apple’s plans. The latest wifi standard should thus be supported by the iPhone 15, even if no details on the models concerned (iPhone 15 classic? Pro?) have leaked. Wi-Fi 6E, faster and more reliable
As a reminder, Wi-Fi 6E is already in place on the last two iPad Pros, the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, and the new Mac Mini. Even more efficient than 5 GHz, Wi-Fi 6 Enhanced uses wider communication channels (up to 160 MHz). The data can thus transit in greater quantity and more quickly. At the same time, Wi-Fi 6E uses the less congested 6 GHz frequency (as its name suggests). Only a few microwave links use the same band in France.
