Give CJ Stroud credit for his theatrics.
While Stroud would be a unanimous top-5 selection in the 2023 NFL Draft — currently ranked second among all quarterbacks behind Bryce Young — he’s not guaranteed to turn pro this offseason. Stroud has unfinished business in Columbus, and the impact of the NIL allows him to comfortably earn a living while playing for Ohio State, and possibly graduating. It’s a welcome twist in a new era for college football.
That being said, it would still be surprising if Stroud didn’t show up in the NFL Draft, given the amount of money available to him in any rookie contract.

It would be a surprise for CJ Stroud to stay in school for another year. At the same time, we don’t know what’s going on in his head right now. Stroud is just weeks away from a disappointing loss to the Georgia Bulldogs, in which the Ohio State Buckeyes had every chance to win — including a final field goal attempt. Maybe he wants to raise the bar and bring another national championship back to Columbus.

Ohio State fans are naturally on the lookout for any kind of Stroud news. The latest is obviously that Stroud liked a post on social media regarding the possibility of staying in school. There is no way to verify if this event actually happened, of course, even if video was provided.
The only way to confirm Stroud’s decision is to hear it from him. Stroud has not committed one way or the other, and Monday is his last chance to do so.
