Will Ferrell had a hilarious chat with Man City star Jack Grealish about Birmingham City.

American actor Will Ferrell made a surprise appearance at Manchester City to watch their Premier League game against Aston Villa on Sunday. And the ‘Step Brothers’ star had time to discuss the beautiful game with Manchester City star Jack Grealish after the game.

Ferrell is in the UK on a football stadium tour, having stunned Wrexham fans by watching them beat Wealdstone 3-1 in the National League on Saturday. Before kick-off, he even had a pint in the pub made famous by FX’s ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.

The 55-year-old, co-owner of MLS club Los Angeles FC, then traveled to Manchester on Sunday for the big game at the Etihad. And after the match, he appears to have become “best friends” with Blues star Grealish.

A visibly delighted Jack posted a series of photos and a selfie taken with Will after the match, which saw City beat Aston Villa, Jack’s hometown club, 3-1. On Instagram, the right-winger wrote: “Did we just become best friends? What a man ! »

Even Jack’s famous followers were impressed with his new Elf companion. Musician Tom Grennan wrote: “Bruv is balls,” while former Citizens goalkeeper Shay Given gave him some heart emojis.

An account claiming to be Ferrell’s official Twitter account also shared a photo with Jack, captioned: “Great to meet my new UK friend Jack Grealish at the Etihad today. He told me to buy Birmingham City and have them relegated to League Two.”

Grealish has previously addressed Birmingham City fan and former player Jude Bellingham being part of England’s 2022 World Cup squad.

The former Aston Villa captain couldn’t help but joke about the rivalry between their former Midlands clubs. Footballing history suggests the England stars might not be friends, given that Bellingham came to school at Birmingham and Grealish is a die-hard Villa fan.

But despite that, Bellingham told talkSPORT that Grealish made him feel more than welcome in the England camp, giving him a huge hug when they first saw each other.

Despite being just 19, Bellingham was one of England’s most important players in Qatar, and Grealish revealed he was full of admiration for his old club’s former rival .

He said: “I didn’t really expect anything else, given the way he started the season with Borussia Dortmund. Even in the Champions League he was on fire, so I didn’t expect anything else.

“It’s crazy to think he’s only 19 and the way he plays, you know, he’s so mature. You know, I think we’ve all seen players in the past who’ve been so good, but you can tell they’re young by the way they’ve played.

“But he plays like a 25 or 30 year old player who has been playing at the top for years. He has everything honestly, he can defend, he can tackle, he can run, he can dribble, he can score, he can assist. So you know, we have to do him justice”.

Both players have long since left their first club, with Grealish signing for Manchester City in 2021 and Bellingham playing for Borussia Dortmund since 2020.

But there is one thing Grealish wishes he could change about his friend.

He joked: “It’s a shame he doesn’t support Aston Villa! That’s the only problem with him. »
