He died on June 25, 2009 from a respiratory arrest caused by an overdose of the anesthetic propofol. Jackson used his “milk,” as he called it because of the white color of the liquid medicine, to help him fall asleep. Without the remedy, the singer could not rest.
The pressure was too great because of his upcoming series of 50 concerts in London, for which he didn’t feel fit enough. It should be his last stage appearances. But the King of Pop panicked. Add to that the physical strain caused by repeated cosmetic surgeries and the delusion of not aging and looking as young as possible.

It’s similar with Madonna. Their six-month world tour with 84 concerts was scheduled to start on July 15th. Like Jackson, she is regularly under the knife, obviously unwilling to accept that she is getting older.
For the tour, she “exhausted herself quite a bit,” according to a family member in the “Daily Mail”. “She thinks she’s young, thinks she’s invincible.”
On Instagram, she regularly presents herself as if she were decades younger. In particular, daughter Lourdes is said to find the revealing photos of Madonna quite embarrassing.

Michael Jackson and Madonna share a penchant for cosmetic surgery and obsession with youth. But they never became real friends. The two met in the mid-1980s. They went to the Oscars together in 1991 – and drew everyone’s attention. “Michael asked me who I was going to the Oscars with. I said: no idea, with you? He thought the idea was great,” she once said.

Madonna even suggested that he cut his hair off. “I also wanted him to ditch his loafers and white socks and just try something new. But, well, it didn’t work out.” She also wanted to persuade him to visit a strip club and intended to change his image. That didn’t go over well with Jackson. “She’s not a nice person,” he later said of her.
A collaboration was planned for his song “In The Closet”. Madonna was surprised that he chose this name for the song, since it stands for a homosexual who has not yet come out. “But Michael really wanted it,” she says. “So I started writing lyrics. But when I presented it to him, he didn’t like it. I think he just wanted a provocative title. But the text should have nothing to do with it.”

After that, they hardly had any contact. After his death, Madonna said of Jackson, “He seemed out of this world. But he was also human. Like many artists, he was shy and plagued by insecurities. And without question, he was one of the greatest talents to ever walk the planet. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to say goodbye to him properly.”
Sentences that one could certainly say about Madonna if she died as unexpectedly as Michael Jackson. The bacterial infection almost cost the singer her life last week.
