The rumors that motorcycle superstar Marc Márquez is looking for an alternative to his Honda racing team persist. The step to KTM is obvious, but then their own acute problems would increase there.
The big home race is just around the corner – and KTM inevitably takes center stage. Last but not least, the Austrian racing team wants to shine in Spielberg this weekend in the main race on Sunday (2 p.m., live on Servus TV) and clinch the long-awaited first win of the season. “We want to attack in Spielberg and fight for victory there. We’re really well prepared,” sporting director Pit Beirer announced a strong performance.
Meanwhile, heated battles are currently being fought off the asphalt. Especially when it comes to starting places for next season. “We have five drivers and currently only four places for next year,” explained Beirer. After Suzuki’s withdrawal from Moto GP, there are two places up for grabs, but KTM has been trying in vain to win the bid for weeks. “We will continue to put one or the other sleepless night behind us.”
