France – French President Emmanuel Macron hopes that Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe will be able to participate with the French Olympic team in the Olympic Games hosted by Paris this summer.

“I hope he will be able to participate in the Olympic Games,” Macron told a number of students who asked him about the fate of Mbappe’s participation in the Olympics during a visit to a primary school in Paris on Friday.

Mbappe, who is 25 years old, has previously announced on several occasions that he dreams of competing in the Paris Olympics, while taking advantage of the Olympic system, which allows each team to field three players who exceed the maximum allowed, which is 23 years.

But Macron’s hopes and Mbappe’s desire may clash with the strict rules of the Real Madrid club, which the French star is expected to join during the next summer transfer period, as the royal club categorically refuses to allow its players to participate in the Olympic competition.

Since the football competition at the Olympic Games is not included in the FIFA calendar, clubs are not obligated to release their players.

The men’s football competitions at the Paris Olympics will begin on July 24, two days before the official opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, and will conclude with the final match at the Parc des Princes Stadium on August 9.
