Will Smith was pronounced after he starred in one of the most embarrassing moments of the 94th edition of the Oscar awards after he slapped Chris Rock in full ceremony for making fun of his wife Jada Pinkett.
The American actor issued a statement through his social networks, where he apologized to the comedian for his angry reaction.
“Violence in all its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior last night at the Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me and I reacted emotionally. I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris, I crossed the line and I was wrong.”, explains the protagonist of “The Prince of Rap”.
The award-winning Best Actor also apologized to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the cast of the movie “King Richard” and all the viewers who witnessed the altercation.
“I am ashamed and my actions were not the indicated of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness. I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, the attendees and everyone who watches us around the world, I would like to apologize to the Williams family and my ‘King Richard’ family. I deeply regret that my behavior has tarnished what has been a beautiful journey for all of us.”, he concluded.

Will Smith lost the papers in the middle of the ceremony after the comedian made fun of Jada Pinkett-Smith’s hair, pointing out that it had the look of the protagonist of the movie “GI Jane” of 1997.
Chris Rock’s comment was not to the liking of Will Smith, who went on stage to slap him and demanded that he not talk about his partner. “Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth.”expressed the actor seconds later when returning to his seat.
