Actor William Hurt died this Sunday at the age of 71, his family announced in a brief statement collected by the US media.

Winner of an Oscar for Kiss of the Spider WomanHe starred in films like Body Heat and Children of a Lesser God.

Other of his outstanding cinematographic participations were in A.I. (Artificial Intelligence), The Village, The Good Shepherd.

He also played Thaddeus Ross in the Marvel universe.

“It is with great sadness that the Hurt family mourns the death of William Hurt, beloved father and Oscar winner, on March 13, 2022, one week before his 72nd birthday,” the relatives said.

The actor died peacefully among his relatives and due to natural causes.

Hurt also acted in stage productions such as Henry V, Fifth of July, Richard II and A Midsummer Night’s Dream and received a Tony Award nomination in 1985 for Hurlyburly.
