Dave Robson, head of vehicle performance at Williams F1, believes that the data Alexander Albon can bring to the team is of “limited value,” especially when it comes to new Pirelli tires.
The Williams F1 was the only team that did not test the 18-inch tires throughout the season because it could not supply a “mule car” to carry out the test.
Alex Albon is testing the new 18-inch tires on the Red Bull F1 early in the season, but tells the new team Williams F1 except for his natural feel to the tire’s performance compared to older cars. The hard data that can be done is limited.
“I don’t know the details of the Red Bull car that we tested the tires on, so I think the value of the information that is useful to us is limited,” Dave Robson told Race Fans.

Alexander Albon is back in team with DAMS teammate Nicholas Latifi in 2018 during the F2 era, spending time with new colleagues to get used to the new environment at Globe.
The Williams F1 simulator has already done some work on the 2022 F1 car, and a tight schedule for Alex Albon’s return to F1 will also begin.
“We are more or less drawing a program for his time at the factory,” Dave Robson said.
