Wimbledon: Carlos Alcaraz defeats Frances Tiafoe in five sets

Alcaraz, the defending champion and third seed, first conceded the first set at the end of the suspense (5-7) in 55 minutes of play. Alcaraz then made up for it by quickly winning (37 minutes) the second set 6-2. The third set turned to the American’s advantage thanks to a break in the seventh game. In a set without a single break point, Alcaraz snatched the fifth set in the deciding game. The Spaniard quickly took off in the fifth set, flying to 5-1, before concluding the match with a shutout.

In the round of 16, Alcaraz will face the winner of the duel between the American Brandon Nakashima (ATP 65) and the Frenchman Ugo Humbert (ATP 16).
