Windows 11 preview released as part of the Windows Insider Program
Microsoft publishes a new build of Windows 11 on the DEV channel of the Windows Insider program, the build Build 23440. In parallel its ISOs are available to install from scratch.
Windows 11 build 23440 introduces three new features and offers a long list of bug fixes. One of the highlights is the Start menu. A recommendation is emerging for quicker access to the Preview builds release notes.
The approach offers to learn more about all the modifications and improvements included in a new build freshly deployed.
It is now possible to hide the time and date in the system tray. The option is available by right-clicking on the clock in the system tray and choosing “Set date and time”.
An option to run network problem diagnostics is available from the right mouse button menu on the network icon in the system tray.
Finally an update of the icon of Windows to the one which is displayed on the desktop is proposed. Windows Spotlight must be selected in “Customize your background”
On the issue of patches, they are very numerous and affect several areas of the operating system. We can cite Taskbar and System Tray, Widgets Module, File Explorer, Search, Windowing, Notifications, Live Subtitles, Notifications, Task Manager and Accessibility .
We are on the DEV channel so this version is not recommended on a production PC. Microsoft announces several problems.
