Windows 11 Preview – Canal Canary du programme Windows Insider

Microsoft has just rolled out a new build of Windows 11 through the Windows Insider program. Being offered to PCs registered on the Canary channel, this build comes with limited documentation.

In short, we only have official information on the most important and impacting known issues.

Windows 11 Build 2594 Highlights

Changes have been made to the advanced display settings page available here

Settings > System > Display > Advanced Display.

Dynamic refresh rate can now be enabled via a “toggle”. When enabled, this advance allows Windows to dynamically adjust the refresh rate up to the selected rate to save power.

Microsoft adds

We have made small changes to raise awareness of limitations (related to display or cable used) that may not allow setting a high refresh rate while on a high display resolution. When selecting a refresh rate, you may notice that some refresh rates will display an asterisk. This means that to select that specific refresh rate, the display resolution will need to be changed to support it.

Improvements are coming to Cast through an updated flyout in Quick Settings. Support is available if there are any issues discovering nearby displays, repairing connections, etc.

The graph at the top of the power and battery page in Settings has been removed. You can continue to see a graph of battery usage in the battery usage section further down the page. Additionally, the Power and Battery Settings page is no longer split into “Power” and “Battery” sections.

To all this is added several fixes. They target rendering and touch interaction issues affecting the File Explorer context menu and command bar drop-down lists. Issues affecting the reliability of File Explorer launching are normally resolved as are issues preventing Japanese and Chinese IMEs from working correctly in some applications and in the File Explorer search box.

We have fixed an issue causing settings to crash when detailed battery usage. Finally, labels now accompany the new options for adjusting the intensity and the increase in the colors of the color filters.
