Windows 11 Preview – Canal Canary du programme Windows Insider
Microsoft is offering a new build of Windows 11 through the CANARY channel of the Windows Insider program, Build 26020. It introduces new features and changes.
Like all other Previews published on the Canary channel, Microsoft offers limited documentation. It only discusses the most important new features and known issues.
The operating system is improving its language support with new languages for voice access. The list includes French (France), French (Canada), German, Spanish (Spain), and Spanish (Mexico).

All voice access functionalities are available on several screens including the superposition of numbers and grids. These were until now only available on the main screen.
Use the mouse grid control to move your mouse to a specific point on a specific screen.
Regarding the grid overlay feature, Microsoft explains
It was developed to allow you not only to interact with the screen you are currently using, but also to quickly switch to another screen. You can also use drag and drop to move files, apps, and documents from one screen to another. After calling the grid overlay, use it to quickly switch focus to another display.
The giant is also introducing voice shortcuts or personalized commands. This option is currently only available if voice access uses English.

Previews for natural voices launching in September 2023 are coming.
When you click on a natural voice for Narrator in the settings, a preview plays automatically.
As a reminder, these new natural voices include Chinese, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Mexico), Japanese, English (United Kingdom), French, Portuguese, English (India), German and Korean. Microsoft adds
Natural Narrator voices use modern text-to-speech on the device and once downloaded are supported without an internet connection. Please note that to listen to the previews, an internet connection is required. To use one of the natural voices, add it to your PC using the following steps:
- Open Narrator settings by pressing WIN + CTRL + N hotkey.
- Under Narrator Voice, select the Add button next to “Add Natural Voices.”
- Select the voice you want to install. You can install all voices, but you must install them separately. The preview will play automatically once you navigate through the list.
- If you like the preview, click “Download and Install”. The new voice will be downloaded and ready to use in a few minutes, depending on your internet download speed.
- Once the new voice is downloaded, in the Narrator settings, select your preferred voice from the Narrator voice drop-down menu > Choose a voice.
Windows 11 build 26020, native content becomes poorer
As of this build 26020, the WordPad and Contacts applications are no longer part of the native content of the OS. They will no longer be present after a new installation of the operating system. On his side WordPad will be deleted soon.
The Alias User Action Recorder app Steps Recorder is abandoned. Its maintenance has been stopped while its removal is planned in a future version of Windows 11. Now Steps Recorder (PSR.exe) displays a notification to guide users to other options. Redmond recommends Screenshot, Xbox Game Bar or Clipchamp.
For plugged-in PCs without a battery (such as desktop PCs), a new power saver icon appears in the system tray if power saver is enabled.

The sharing window only displays applications under “Share using” that are linked to the account the user is signed into Windows with: Microsoft Account (MSA) or Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory). Sharing with WhatsApp is available and other services are planned in the future.
Give your device a friendlier name to identify sharing to and from Nearby Share.
Finally, the proximity sharing function is armed with an option allowing you to quickly give a name to the device to identify sharing to and from.
It is important to emphasize that Windows 11 build 26020 is not recommended for a production PC. The OS is offered in a test setting only. There is no guarantee on its stability and performance.
