Windows 11 – List of abandoned apps
Microsoft is expanding Windows 11’s list of outdated features with the addition of the Tips app. It’s the place to go to discover the latest news with each new Windows 11 feature update.
Since November 1, 2013, it has been officially declared obsolete. Microsoft specifies, however, that it will continue to receive content updates as long as it is preloaded with Windows. Faced with this additional information, it is likely that the firm will decide to remove it from the next major Windows 11 updates.
The list of software and features abandoned by Microsoft continues to grow. In September, WordPad was declared obsolete in favor of Notepad, and a month earlier it was Cortana in favor of Copilot. We must prepare for other changes since the giant has already announced the abandonment of the Mail & Calendar applications next year. They will be replaced by Outlook (web version).
We have no information regarding the successor to “Tips” but Windows 11 already has the built-in “Get Help” app. It may become the new destination to learn regarding the latest updates. Microsoft might also redirect users to online documentation.
