Dr. Manar Ghanem, a member of the media center at the General Meteorological Authority, said that the winter season will officially begin next Friday, in light of the presence of cold weather controlling most of the country.
She added: There are air masses coming from the Mediterranean Sea that dominate most areas, making temperatures drop, especially during the late night periods, which record 13 degrees.
She continued: “The temperature reaches 22 degrees in Cairo, 21 degrees on the northern coasts, and 26 degrees in northern Upper Egypt, and thus the weather is pleasant during the day in most of the northern governorates, and moderate in the southern regions.”
She confirmed that starting Thursday there will be a new decline in temperatures. Therefore, citizens must be careful, in addition to wind activity that makes it feel colder than the declared temperatures.
She indicated that light to moderate rain is expected from Thursday until the beginning of the week in the northern regions and northern Lower Egypt.
