And Iman Al-Bahr Darwish, he is the grandson of the late musician Sayed Darwish, and he achieved his fame from performing his grandfather’s songs with new musical arrangements, as well as from some of his songs such as “Bird in the Sky”, and he assumed the position of captain of the Egyptian Musicians between 2017 and 2019.
Eman Al-Bahr worked to revive the works of his grandfather, Sayed Darwish, and he presented them in an excellent way that was admired throughout the Arab world, despite the difference in the style of his songs from the singing styles that prevailed at the time.
He was born in the Kom El-Dikka district of Alexandria in 1955, and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Alexandria University. Then he began his singing career by forming a singing choir during his studies at the college, in order to present the works of his grandfather, the late artist Sayed Darwish, and he achieved fame among university students in the field of singing.
Eman established a company to produce cassette tapes under the name of Amwaj Company, and began producing his own albums. He participated in the films “Bird in the Sky, Forgery of Official Papers, A Tale in Two Words” and the series “My Love That I Don’t Know”.
And the head of the Musicians Syndicate, Mustafa Kamel, confirmed in previous statements during the union’s small general assembly meeting, details about his previous tenure in the union.
Mostafa Kamel said that he took over the syndicate after the events of January 25, 2011, and at that time the syndicate’s treasury was empty, indicating that at that time the treasury was refreshed, and it contained nearly 13 and a half million pounds, supporting his statement with documents displayed on the screen.
Mostafa Kamel added, “I told Eman Al-Bahr Darwish, if there is no money to pay the musicians’ pensions, I will lend the syndicate out of my pocket.”
