The mayor of San Isidro, Gustavo Posse, led the opening of the new House of Culture of Villa Adelina in its Public Park, located on Luis María Drago and José María Moreno. The new space has about 365 covered square meters and 150 semi-covered square meters, with a kitchen and several lounges. This venue will soon offer a wide variety of courses and workshops.
“For us, cultural management occupies a strategic place within our public policies; For this reason, the opening of this new house, the largest of all and in this great park, is enormously satisfying. A recovered public space that is a social good for all the residents of San Isidro and that continues to improve from a series of works in progress,” said Mayor Gustavo Posse.
The event, which began at 4:30 p.m., had workshops and open classes by local teachers. From painting classes, children’s drawing, to a creative workshop with canvas flowers and twigs, were some of the proposals. There was also country dancing, Latin rhythms and rock with students from these workshops.
“It is always a joy to inaugurate cultural spaces because they promote the integration and commitment of residents with this type of expression. We know the work behind it, which is why we are confident that this place will become a meeting and learning environment” , expressed councilor Macarena Posse, after the inauguration.
To close the day, the tango orchestra Pablo Ramos & Los Herederos del Compás performed, a tango orchestra in the Juan D’Arienzo style, directed by the son of Osvaldo Ramos, a resident of Villa Adelina. Together with this group, the tango couples Nair Schinca & Nicolás Schell, and Cristina Sosa and Daniel Nacucchio danced.
The new House, which can be accessed from Luis María Drago street, will soon offer a wide range of workshops and courses for all ages, both face-to-face and virtual; visual arts, music, theater, literature, dance, body in movement and cooking, among other proposals.
This headquarters works in the old Club House of the former Golf that was completely modernized and remodeled by the Municipality. The building has hot-cold air conditioning systems, storage areas, restrooms and an administrative office.
