Messi and his team won the title after defeating France (4-2) in a penalty shootout at the Lusail Stadium. Messi scored both goals in the final.
Lakhs of people gathered around the airport to welcome Messi and his team, who returned home with the world crown. Then Messi and his team traveled through the capital city in an open bus to receive the warm greetings of the fans. Around 50 lakh people came to see the stars in the capital city. At one point, Messi and his team were transferred to a helicopter after the fans tried to storm the open bus carrying the teammates. Later, the journey with the crown continued in a helicopter.
