The Ministry of Health and Population said that citizens can receive the second dose of the Corona virus vaccine in any center without the need for prior reservation.
And the Ministry of Health added, in an awareness post, on its official Facebook page, today, Thursday: The second dose can be obtained at any health center without prior reservation.
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Acting Minister of Health, reviewed a report on the latest developments in the epidemiological situation locally and globally, during the cabinet meeting, today, headed by Dr. Mustafa Madbouly.
The minister began the report by referring to the weekly change rates of cases of coronavirus infection and deaths resulting from infection with this virus at the global level per million people, as well as at the level of the Middle East, pointing out in this regard that Egypt is among the countries that recorded low rates.
At the same time, he referred to the epidemiological curve of confirmed cases of Corona disease until the end of the epidemiological week No. 9 of 2022, explaining that the decrease in infection rates was accompanied by a reduction in the number of isolation hospitals at the level of the Republic.
During the report, the minister addressed the situation of the supply and consumption of coronavirus vaccines, noting that more than 143 million doses of various vaccines have been provided so far, and more than 73 million doses have been consumed, including about 1.4 million booster doses for priority groups to receive the third dose, adding, The remaining doses are sufficient to vaccinate more than 42 million citizens.
With regard to the coverage rates of targeted citizens over 18 years of age by vaccination, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar explained that they reached about 50.5%, while the coverage rates of targeted citizens over 12 years of age reached about 43.6% of the target.
