“Women don’t cry to me, they point out the problem”

Today, Saturday (19.10.24), Zoi Konstantopoulou spoke, among others, about the heated episode she had with Dora Bakoyannis during the meeting of the Conference of Presidents in the Parliament last week.

The reason was the reports of Mrs. Konstantopoulou about sexism in the Parliament, which caused the strong reaction of Mrs. Bakoyannis. “Do you know how many women parliamentarians of the ND complain?”, was the indicative phrase of the president of Plefsis Eleftherias.

“The issue of sexism is not partisan. I am subjected to huge attacks, but in general there are incidents of verbal belittling, I get it, because women from ND and other parties come and tell me that. I was impressed by the reaction of Mrs. Bakoyannis”, stressed Mrs. Konstantopoulou, speaking to SKAI on Saturday morning (19.10.24).

Commenting on the answer given to her by Mrs. Bakoyannis in Parliament, “if they come and cry to you, you can invite them”, Mrs. Konstantopoulou said that “women are not crying, they are pointing out that there is an issue and a problem”.

And she concluded: “My spirit is that we must finally put equality into action and not into words.”
