Our guest on info 83: Doctor Stéphanie Guillaume, solidarity health assistant at the town hall of Six-Fours-les-Plages. The “Women’s Heart Bus” returns for its third edition to Six Fours les Plages. This is also its 4th Edition in France after having already screened nearly 10,000 women since 2021. A health journey bringing together cardiologists, gynecologists, obstetricians and general practitioners.
90% of women passing by the bus had at least two cardiovascular risk factors. Nearly half had two cardiovascular risk factors and two gyneco-obstetric risk factors.

Fight against a little-known scourge: cardiovascular diseases
Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death among women in France, far surpassing deaths from breast cancer. Initiated by Professor Claire Mounier-Vehier and Thierry Drilhon, the Agir pour le Cœur des Femmes fund aims to alert people to this often underestimated reality. This initiative aims to encourage prevention and early detection.
Cardiovascular diseases continue to affect an increasing number of women, including at increasingly younger ages. It is one of the main causes of death, causing 200 deaths daily in France and up to 76,000 each year. It is essential to note that 80% of these deaths could be prevented with appropriate prevention measures.
Accessible upon registration, the bus offers a comprehensive health journey supervised by a team of volunteer health professionals. Participants will benefit from varied consultations, ranging from blood pressure measurement to gynecological interviews. Also going through blood sugar and cholesterol tests. This comprehensive screening allows rapid and appropriate management of identified risk factors.
Come and discover the health village, the conference and local associations
Beyond screening, this represents an essential educational project to develop. The initiative is based on three pillars: “Alert, Anticipate, Act”. Beyond screening, it aims to raise women’s awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Encourage women and young women to take charge of their cardiovascular and gynecological health.
Around the Bus, a health village will offer information and resources on various health topics. Visitors will be able to interact with local associations. Find out about the rights and services available, and benefit from advice for a healthier life. This represents around twenty local associations allowing those who wish to come and collect information on numerous health subjects. Themes such as addiction, cancer, rights, sports health, discrimination and violence against women…
A inauguration conference will be held on March 27 at 11 a.m. in front of the women’s heart bus, in the presence of Dr Stéphanie Guillaume, deputy mayor for health, Professor Claire Mounier-Véhier & Thierry Drilhon, co-founders of Acting for Women’s Hearts.
