World Boxing: India on the rise

New Delhi: Indian players continue to advance in the World Women’s Boxing Championship. Nitu Gangas, Preeti and Manju Bamboria made it to the pre-quarters.

Commonwealth Games gold medalist Nitu reached the pre-quarters by defeating Korea’s Doyon Kang in the 48 kg category. Last year, Nitu reached the quarter. In the 54 kg category, Romania’s Lacramiora overcame Perioc following a tough fight. Manju’s progress in 66 kg was achieved by beating New Zealand’s Kara Warerau 5-0.
