World Chess Olympiad: Wins and losses for India | Sports | Deshabhimani

India’s men’s and women’s teams each lost in the World Chess Olympiad. The remaining four Indian teams also won in the fourth round. All four matches of Indian A team against France in the open category were drawn. Malayalee player SL Narayanan, Arjun Eri Gacy, Vidit Gujarati and P Harikrishna were all caught in the draw.

The Indian B team did well to beat Italy in two games. Malayalam star Nihal Sarin defeated Moroni Luca. D Gukesh also won.
Indian C team lost to Spain. SP Sethuraman, Surya Shekhar Ganguly and Karthikeyan Murali drew, but Abhijit Gupta’s defeat was a setback.

In women’s A team defeated Hungary. Koneru Hampi, R Vaishali and D Harika tied the score for Tania Sachdev’s victory. The B team also defeated Estonia by a single win. Indian C team lost to Georgia.
