The Emirates Red Crescent Authority’s organization of the conference coincides with the Year of Sustainability announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, and within the UAE’s preparations to host the twenty-eighth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change “COP28”. During its organization, the Authority seeks to anticipate the future of preserving graces, enhancing international cooperation, and working to adopt a sustainable approach to save them from waste.

Today, the authority held a press conference at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi to announce the conference, in the presence of His Excellency Hammoud Abdullah Al Junaibi, Acting Secretary General of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, and a number of leaders and officials of the authority, and representatives of sponsors and strategic partners.

The Emirates News Agency, WAM, is the strategic media partner for the First World Conference on Preserving Blessings, according to the memorandum of understanding recently signed between the agency and the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, “Project Preservation of Blessings” regarding the conference.

Sultan Al-Shehhi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference and Director of the Preservation of Blessings Project, said in his speech during the press conference: “The First International Conference on Preserving Blessings, which is organized by the Emirates Red Crescent Authority on September 20 and 21, under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler In the Al Dhafra region, the head of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, coincides with the year of sustainability, and in keeping with the most important event in the country this year, which is the country’s hosting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change “COP28” next November, and one of its most important goals is to consider creating Innovative solutions to enhance the water resources sector and food security.

He stressed that the conference is an opportunity to shed light on the legacy of sustainability rooted in the history of the Emirates, and whose foundations were laid by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul in peace,” and who presented many initiatives to protect the environment.

He pointed out that the Preservation of Grace project, which was launched in 2004, is considered one of the pioneering initiatives that the Red Crescent Authority has consistently adopted to promote the values ​​of solidarity and social compassion, and to strengthen the bridges of communication between benefactors, low-income people and needy families.

He said: “We look forward to the conference being the first step in the journey of international approval to adopt the International Day of Preservation of Grace, which we seek to launch from the UAE to the world as an initiative that supports the National Strategy for Food Security for the year 2051, and we will spare no effort to achieve this goal, which will have an impact.” directly to improve global food security.
