World Health Summit started in Berlin

Experts from all over the world meet at the most important forum on global health

Berlin (ots) The World Health Summit 2023, the world’s leading meeting for global health, began on Sunday morning in Berlin. The three-day conference will focus on climate change and health, pandemic prevention, digital technologies for global healthcare, the priorities of the G7/G20 in global health and 75 years of WHO. From October 15th to 17th, leading international representatives from politics, science, business and civil society will discuss the most important questions under the motto “A Defining Year for Global Health Action”. Well over 300 are expected Speakers from all over the world, including around 20 ministers.

In order to enable those interested who cannot travel to participate, the entire program is freely available live online.

The official opening event will take place in the evening at 6:00 p.m. On stage are, among others, Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach, Ayoade Alakija, a doctor from Nigeria and special representative of the World Health Organization (WHO), the youth ambassador of the President of the UN climate conference COP27, Omnia El Omrani, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who will be connected live, as well as Christina Chilimba, Founder of a youth organization in Malawi. The Prime Minister of Barbados, as well as the French and Japanese Health Ministers, among others, took part in video contributions.
