The British Daily Mail reported that a sniper serving in the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) claimed that he used the large-caliber sniper rifle “Volodar Obriyu” (Volodar Obriyu) developed and manufactured by the Ukrainian weapons manufacturer MAYAK to kill A Russian soldier about 3.8 kilometers away also broke the world record for bullet flight distance.

The previous record was set by a Canadian special forces sniper in Iraq in 2017, at a distance of about 3.5 kilometers. The video allegedly shows that a few seconds after the sniper fired, a Russian soldier fell, and the original three Russian soldiers became two. The bullet is said to have a flight time of 10 seconds.

SBU said: “Our snipers are rewriting the rules of sniping around the world, demonstrating unparalleled long-range combat capabilities.”

The Ukrainian military provided no other details, said where the video was filmed or how it confirmed the sniper’s actions.

The American website “the Firearm Blog” pointed out that the length of this sniper rifle “Horizon King” is about 180 centimeters. If the correct bullet is used, the fired bullet can travel faster than the speed of sound and may fly as far as nearly three kilometers.
