World Walking Competition; Indian women’s team wins medal

The Indian women’s team won the medal for the first time in the history of the World Walking Championships. The team comprising Ravina, Bhavna Jat and Munitha Prajapati won the bronze medal in the 20 km race in Muscat. India’s medal haul was behind China and Greece. In this category, China won gold and Greece silver. It has been 61 years since the Indian team won a medal at the World Walking Championships. Athletes from 46 countries are taking part in the championship, which is being held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center.
