Indec releases August inflation
The Indec announces at 4 p.m. the CPI figure that is shaping up to be the highest in more than 3 decades and forces the Government to speed up containment measures for retirees, AUH and workers who do not pay earnings following raising the floor of that tax for employees in a dependency relationship. The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) will announce this followingnoon the variation registered in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) during August.
The CPI rose 6.3% in July, which represented an increase of 0.3 points compared to June, when it stood at 6%.
Thus, during the first seven months of the year retail inflation was 60.2% and 113.4% in the last 12 months.
For its part, the Statistics Directorate of the city of Buenos Aires reported last week that inflation in the Buenos Aires district was 10.8% during August, above the 7.3% registered in July.
Thus, the Buenos Aires price index accumulated a rise of 79.8% in the first eight months of the year and a year-on-year variation of 127.3%.
