The Minister of Economy and presidential candidate, Sergio Massawill face a hard given official: August inflation.

It is not ruled out that the index exceeds two digits, even many private measurements see it above 12%. What’s more, it might be between 12.1% and 12.3%.

The Córdoba inflation was 12.15% in Augustwith a strong price increase following the Paso elections.

Indec releases August inflation

The Indec announces at 4 p.m. the CPI figure that is shaping up to be the highest in more than 3 decades and forces the Government to speed up containment measures for retirees, AUH and workers who do not pay earnings following raising the floor of that tax for employees in a dependency relationship. Days ago Massa made announcements regarding the Income Tax.

In fact, if the private forecasts come true, August monthly inflation would be the highest since 1991: Estimates from the different surveys are around 11%, although some surveys place the figure above 12%.

The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) will announce this followingnoon the variation registered in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) during August.

The CPI rose 6.3% in July, which represented an increase of 0.3 points compared to June, when it stood at 6%.
