Liberty Global continues its operations around Sunrise UPC, since this name still remains at the bottom of its press releases. After having overshadowed the UPC brand and revamped the Sunrise logo, the campaign is in full swing. What is she hiding?
It’s hard not to see the Sunrise posters on all media, especially in the street. The opportunity to be regularly confronted with this new logo which alternately brings to mind the symbolic cut of a tunnel or a metro sign. Gone are the days of a radiant smile or a sunrise… Much more underground!
Sunrise UPC: signs of weakness
Obviously, the financial department intends to hit hard to win customers thanks to the assets and the synergized networks of Sunrise and UPC, while first signs of weakness and discontent arise. The offensive is massive: in addition to , Sunrise UPC is multiplying questionable partnerships in all directions.
All this gives us the impression that we are trying to improve the image of Sunrise UPC at great expense. As if it was enough to put up posters to improve its networks (partially wired for the landline) or its customer service. On the contrary, these sums invested do not go to the networks or to customer service…
Sunrise UPC and its profitability
At the same time, Sunrise UPC is continuing its efforts to maximize its profitability. Remember that the American had announced last year the elimination of 600 workstations, including some 300 in 2022: as many employees who will no longer appear on the company’s budget and who will not be at the service of its customers either…
Generally speaking, such procedures are trivial before attempting to sell a company, whose we take care of the publication of the results. We polish the balance sheet, we redo the paint and we try to get the most out of the company, even if it means putting it in difficulty, by completely ignoring its customers.
A handful of billions
It remains to be seen who could buy Sunrise UPC, whose valuation should rise to a good ten billion francs, provided that its coaxial network still holds up to the comparison with optical fiber. It’s probably not for nothing that he can count on many partnerships in the field…
If no buyer were to come forward, would they try to slice up their assets to sell Sunrise UPC in several pieces? Hard to say. It is also difficult to see clearly in the strategy of Liberty Global, which nevertheless withdrew from many European countries before getting its hands on Sunrise, whereas the reverse was initially planned. Another clue!
